Narellan Jets Junior Rugby League Club: Better to be a Jetter
A club where the next generation of Macarthur kids learn the game, build mates for life, and wear the Jets jersey with pride — and now, a club with a home base at Oran Park Hotel.
Some clubs make rugby league players. The best ones make people. The Narellan Jets Junior Rugby League Club has been doing both since 1977 — turning local kids into footy players, and footy players into the kind of teammates who stick with you for life. Based at Narellan Sports Ground, the Junior Jets are one of the most established junior clubs in the Macarthur area and a fixture of grassroots league in South-West Sydney.
Better to be a Jetter.
Nearly 50 years in the making
The Narellan Jets story stretches back to 1977 — competing in the Macarthur District Rugby League under Wests Group Macarthur, and fielding teams from junior grades all the way through to seniors. This is a club with genuine pedigree. The Jets have claimed Group 6 premierships in 1996 and 2004, and as Narellan grew through the late 90s and 2000s, the Jets became one of the dominant clubs in the group. That competitive culture runs deep — and it starts in the juniors.
Kids as young as six pull on the Jets jersey here. From the littlies just finding their feet on the field, all the way through to the 18s competing hard on Sundays, the junior club is the engine room of the whole Jets legacy. Generations of Narellan families have come through these ranks, and plenty more will.
The club's values are straightforward: fairness, respect for opponents, and a positive attitude on and off the field — regardless of the scoreboard. It's a culture that parents in the Macarthur area genuinely respect, and it's why families keep coming back season after season.
More than a footy club
The Jets calendar goes well beyond fixtures. Special rounds, Anzac Day memorial matches, Old Boys' nights, and community fundraisers bring families, former players, and local supporters together in a way that only a club with deep roots can. These aren't admin events — they're the moments that make a rugby league club what it is.
The junior club feeds directly into the senior grades, giving kids a pathway to play here for life. Develop here, play here, belong here.
What's on this season with OPH
This season, Oran Park Hotel is proud to be part of the Jets calendar. Here's what we've lined up together:
Pizza nights at Papi's — age groups rotating through for team pizza nights at Papi's Pizza. A great excuse to bring the whole family in, celebrate the week, and keep the club community buzzing. Watch this space for dates.
Meat tray Fridays — the classic community fundraiser, kicking off soon. Friday afternoons at OPH. Come in, support the Jets, take home a tray.
A Sportsman's Lunch in July — a full sit-down event bringing together the Jets community and local supporters. Date to be confirmed shortly — keep an eye on our What's On page.
End of season presentation — when it's time to hand out the trophies and celebrate the year, OPH will be right there alongside the Jets. More details as the season unfolds.
Get your kids involved
Whether your child is brand new to rugby league or already a footy nut, the Junior Jets have a place for them. Coaches and volunteers are always welcome too — every great club is built on the people who give their time.
